Weight Loss Pre-Care Instructions
Before your weight loss injection
gather your supplies: syringe of pre-filled medication, alcohol swab
- Choose a well lit area to perform the injection.
- Select an area on the abdomen, at least 2 inches away from your belly button to perform the injection. Remember to select a new area on the abdomen/ rotated injection sites each time you perform an injection.
- Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water.
- Clean the chosen area with an alcohol swab. Let the area dry completely afterwards.
- Pinch the skin and insert the needle at a 90 degree angle.
- Inject the medication until the plunger has pushed all the medication into the skin.
- Replace the cap and place the syringe back in the bag that you were given and return the used syringes at your next visit for disposal.
* Be aware that any medication that is lost, stolen or damaged will not be replaced.
Weight Loss Post-Care Instructions
- Common side effects are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and constipation. Please call us if you have persistent symptoms so that we can help you.
- If you have extreme abdominal pain, with or without nausea and vomiting please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room as that may be a sign of a serious condition.
